Position Overview:
The Climber sets the pace, standard, and execution of the entire job site and safety. This role is responsible for leading safe, efficient, and professional tree operations while maintaining strong communication, accountability, and workflow throughout the day. The Climber leads the entire crew with zero wasted motion, ensures nothing is missed, and takes pride in precision, leadership, and setting the standard on every job site.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Climber:
Perform climbing, rope rigging, lowering, and high-angle removals at a professional level
Operate bucket trucks when necessary
Operate chainsaws, machinery and trucks at a professional level
Perform tree trimming and pruning to promote healthy growth and enhance appearance
Conduct pre-job and ground-level planning with ground crew; coordinate rigging and drop zones
Lead climbing and ground operations to eliminate unnecessary motion
Assign and verify ground tasks; ensure every job checklist item is completed and the customer experience generates 5‑star reviews
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols
Maintain complete control of the job site by proactively identifying hazards, correcting unsafe behavior immediately, and enforcing company safety standards at all times
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years climbing experience
Must be comfortable performing technical removals
Must have rigging experience
Ability to operate a bucket truck safely
Strong physical fitness with the ability to work at heights for extended periods
Commitment to following safety guidelines and protocols while on the job
Ability to correct unsafe behavior immediately
Passionate about training and mentoring all crew members
Ability to set the tempo for the job
Dedication to enforcing Tree Ya Later standards without hesitation
Maintain a professional, solution-oriented attitude and remain open to coaching, accountability, and continuous improvement
Be a Team Player: Assist crew members in all tasks
Driver’s License & reliable transportation
Pay Range:
$37.50 - $50.00 per hour
