Expert Tree Removal, Done Right

Some trees just have to come down. Maybe it's dead and shedding limbs over your driveway. Maybe a storm split it. Maybe it's leaning a little more every year and you're done holding your breath every time the wind picks up. Whatever brought you here, we'll take it down safely and leave your yard looking better than we found it.

Tree Ya Later has removed trees across Monmouth and Ocean County since 2020, from small backyard ornamentals to the big, tricky takedowns other companies walk away from: tight side yards, trees hanging over the house, trunks wedged between fences and pools. We're fully licensed and insured, our team is led by ISA Certified Arborists, and we're a registered business with the NJ Board of Tree Experts (NJTC #939213). That's not just paperwork, it's your protection.

Not sure the whole tree needs to go? Sometimes smart trimming and pruning saves a tree we'd otherwise remove. We'll give you a straight answer either way, because good service speaks for itself.

Signs a Tree Needs to Come Down

  • Dead or dying branches, thinning canopy, or bark falling away in sheets
  • A new lean, lifted roots, or cracked soil at the base after a storm
  • Large cracks, cavities, or fungus growing from the trunk
  • Branches over your roof, driveway, or a spot where kids play
  • Storm damage that left the tree split, hung up, or unstable
  • Construction plans where the tree stands, from additions to new driveways

If any of those sound familiar, call or text 732-372-3596 for a free estimate. Usually same-day or next-day, so your project keeps moving.

The Process

How We Remove a Tree Safely

STEP 01

Assessment and Free Quote

A tree care expert walks the property with you, checks the tree's condition, access, and surroundings, and gives you a clear, detailed quote. No surprises later.

STEP 02

Controlled Takedown

Our crew arrives with the right equipment for the job. Trees near structures come down in sections, rigged and lowered piece by piece, never dropped and hoped for.

STEP 03

Cleanup and Haul-Away

Wood is bucked, brush is chipped, and the lawn gets raked out. We leave your property cleaner than we found it. Want firewood or chips left behind? Just ask.

What Affects Tree Removal Cost

Every tree is different, which is why we quote in person instead of guessing over the phone. The estimate is free, and here's what moves the number:

  • Size and height. A 30-foot ornamental and an 80-foot oak are different jobs entirely.
  • Location and access. Open front yard? Easy. Backyard over the pool with a narrow gate? That takes rigging and time.
  • Condition. Dead and brittle trees are less predictable and take more care than healthy wood.
  • What's underneath. Roofs, fences, sheds, gardens, septic fields. Protecting them is part of the job.
  • Stump plans. Removal quotes usually cover the tree to a low stump. Add stump grinding to finish the job completely.

Do I Need a Permit to Remove a Tree in NJ?

In a growing number of Monmouth and Ocean County towns, yes. Many municipalities adopted tree removal and replacement ordinances in 2024 under the state's stormwater rules, and larger trees often require an application before they come down. Hazardous and storm-damaged trees are typically exempt, but every town writes its own rules.

We work with these ordinances every week and we'll tell you exactly what your town requires during the estimate. You can also check our NJ tree removal permit guide for your town's application.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does tree removal cost in Monmouth and Ocean County?
It depends on the tree's size, condition, and how hard it is to reach, which is why we quote in person, for free. You will have a clear number in writing before any work is scheduled. Call or text 732-372-3596 for an estimate, usually same-day or next-day.
Do I need a permit to remove a tree on my property in NJ?
Many Monmouth and Ocean County towns now require a tree removal application for larger trees under ordinances adopted in 2024. Hazard trees are usually exempt. We'll tell you exactly what your town requires during your free estimate, and our permit guide can point you to your town's application.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Tree Ya Later LLC is fully insured and registered with the NJ Board of Tree Experts (NJTC #939213), with a Licensed Tree Care Operator and ISA Certified Arborists on staff. You're welcome to verify our registration in the state's public directory.
Can you remove a tree that's close to my house or over a pool?
That's our specialty. Trees near structures come down in sections, rigged and lowered under control rather than felled in one piece. We plan every cut around what's underneath and around the tree.
Do you grind the stump too?
We can. Most removal quotes take the tree down to a low stump, and stump grinding is an easy add-on that finishes the job completely so you can replant, reseed, or just mow right over the spot.

The wind took down a 25 ft Pine tree in my back yard. I called Joe and left a message. Joe returned my call, provided me a date and time. This is worth mentioning as no one returns a call for service. Joe arrived early on the agreed day. Joe removed all brush, all logs and used a blower to clean up the property. The job was immaculate, Joe even broom swept the curb.

Tree Ya Later did an awesome job taking out two willows for me. Their communication was great! They came out right away for a quote and gave me a very fair price. The men were very thorough and cleaned up great! They took a fence out to get in the back and put the fence back better than it was!
