Tree Health, Not Just Tree Cutting

Anyone can cut a tree down. Keeping a 60-year-old oak healthy for the next 60 years, that takes science. Our Plant Health Care program is a proactive approach to maintaining the health and vitality of your trees and landscape: soil analysis, pest and disease diagnosis, and deep root fertilization, with the goal of keeping your trees thriving for generations.

Tree Ya Later is proudly led by ISA Certified Arborists: trained professionals certified by the International Society of Arboriculture, with the highest level of expertise in tree care, health, and safety. Add our state credentials, a Licensed Tree Care Operator on staff and registration with the NJ Board of Tree Experts (NJTC #939213), and you're working with specialists, not just saws.

What Plant Health Care Includes

  • Arborist inspection and diagnosis. What's actually wrong, in plain English, before anyone sells you a treatment.
  • Soil analysis and deep root fertilization. Most struggling trees are hungry or compacted at the roots. We feed the root zone directly.
  • Insect and pest monitoring. We identify what is feeding on your trees and how far it has spread, then map out a plan.
  • Disease diagnosis. Fungal, bacterial, and stress conditions identified early and explained honestly.
  • Ongoing monitoring. Seasonal check-ins so small problems never get the chance to become removals.

The Pests Hitting Our Counties Right Now

Southern pine beetle is actively killing pines through Ocean County's pinelands edge around Jackson. Rice-sized beetles, and once a pine is fully infested there's no saving it: early detection and protecting the healthy pines around it is the game.

Spotted lanternfly is established across New Jersey. Beyond the swarms, they rain sticky honeydew that grows black sooty mold over patios, cars, and pool decks. Removing their favorite host, tree-of-heaven, and staying on top of egg masses cuts the population on your property.

Our oaks face bacterial leaf scorch and stress from rough storm seasons. Oak wilt has not been confirmed in New Jersey, and we like it that way: we monitor for early signs so a suspicious decline gets a real diagnosis, fast.

If a tree is already past saving, we'll say so honestly and handle the removal safely. And where good pruning is the right medicine, that's what we'll prescribe.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is Plant Health Care?
Think of it as a wellness program for your landscape instead of emergency-room medicine. An arborist assesses your trees, catches problems early, feeds the soil, manages pests and disease, and monitors season to season, so your trees stay healthy instead of becoming removals.
What are the signs my tree is sick?
Thinning canopy, early leaf drop or off-color leaves, dead branch tips, fungus or mushrooms at the base, oozing bark, sawdust trails, or sticky residue under the tree. Any of those is worth a call. Early diagnosis is the difference between a treatment and a takedown.
Can you save a pine with southern pine beetle?
Once a pine is fully infested, honestly, no. The play is speed: confirming the infestation, removing infested trees quickly, and protecting the healthy pines around them. If you're near the pinelands in Ocean County and see browning pines with popcorn-like pitch tubes, call sooner rather than later.
What can be done about spotted lanternfly?
The biggest wins on a private property are removing tree-of-heaven, their preferred host, and scraping egg masses before they hatch. We will walk your property, identify the hosts, and tell you what is worth doing. If your patio is getting sticky under a tree, that is them.
Is Plant Health Care worth it compared to just removing a struggling tree?
A mature shade tree adds real value to your property and can't be replaced in your lifetime. Catching a problem early is almost always cheaper than removal, and when treatment isn't worth it, we'll tell you straight. Honest advice is the whole point of having arborists on staff.

The wind took down a 25 ft Pine tree in my back yard. I called Joe and left a message. Joe returned my call, provided me a date and time. This is worth mentioning as no one returns a call for service. Joe arrived early on the agreed day. Joe removed all brush, all logs and used a blower to clean up the property. The job was immaculate, Joe even broom swept the curb.

Dwayne came out to give me an estimate the next day. We agreed on a competitive price. The crew arrived a few minutes before 8, ready to go. They cleaned up really great!

Tree Ya Later did an awesome job taking out two willows for me. Their communication was great! They came out right away for a quote and gave me a very fair price. The men were very thorough and cleaned up great! They took a fence out to get in the back and put the fence back better than it was!
